Autumn Experience: With the outer lights dimming as we head further towards the winter solstice from the autumn equinox, we can honour the intelligent rhythm of the seasons. By choosing to slow down and listen within, we give space for our inner awareness to brighten as the outer world darkens.

Through the combination of Restorative Yoga – a deeply relaxing and physically supported practice that provides healing potential for the body and the mind – and Yoga Nidra - a subtle, yet powerful, journey of authentically delivered guided meditation - we are able to re-set the nervous system, inviting a sense of balance and comfort through our whole being. This combined journey invites us to come home to the true essence of ourselves, and rest in the ever-present peaceful space of the heart.
The Rest Nest @ Restoration Yard is open to all. It can be especially useful for those of us experiencing stress, anxiety, tension, overwhelm, low mood, or lack of quality sleep, and for anyone living with or recovering from chronic fatigue, burnout, or illness.
Nourishing and empowering classes which are inclusive and suitable for all women, whether beginners or seasoned yoga practitioners. The focus is on connection - to self, others and nature - and our internal experiences, while we create space and ease in the body.
Therapeutic Yoga for Women classes combine a body of therapeutic practices which celebrate the cyclical nature of women’s lives, and help us to access our deep knowing. The practices work with the whole body, mind and spirit, and are designed to support women's health and well-being in particular. We work with our inner experiences and emotions to encourage self-awareness and self-kindness, and access our resources for coping with whatever life is bringing our way.
Through each term, we work with Yoga Somatics, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Movement, Breath, Sound, Yoga Philosophy, Mudra, Gentle Flow, Meditation, Laughter, and our connection to our own and nature's rhythms and cycles to optimise vitality and creativity.
These classes provide excellent support for women's general mental and physical health. They are especially supportive for women of any age who feel stressed or frazzled, or experience anxiety or low mood.
Women seeking to support and optimise fertility will benefit greatly from these sessions, as well as those experiencing womb-related concerns such as irregular, painful or heavy periods, endometriosis or PCOS, and those transitioning through menopause.
Open to all women, and no prior experience of Yoga is needed.

Nourishing classes that support us throughout pregnancy, while preparing for an empowered birth experience and transition to motherhood. The practices gently stretch, strengthen and calm both mind and body, while connecting to our growing babies.
We use yoga postures, breathing practices, meditation techniques and specialist guided relaxations (including Yoga Nidra for Pregnancy) to:
build strength and stability
relieve exhaustion and lift the spirit
find more comfort in the physical changes which pregnancy brings
promote calm and boost vitality
support emotional and spiritual adjustments
resource ourselves for birth and beyond
find optimal pelvic floor tone to prepare for birth and support postnatal healing
In these Pregnancy Yoga and Birth Preparation classes, we give lots of encouraging information and practical guidance around our changing needs throughout pregnancy, including the prevention and management of various symptoms and discomforts of pregnancy such as back pain, pelvic pain (PGP), heartburn and leg cramps, as well as working to encourage optimal foetal positioning for baby.
We encourage a community of support, and lasting friendships are often formed between mamas in these groups. We also host a closed group on Facebook in which we share further connection and information.
Pregnancy Yoga and Birth Preparation classes run in rolling blocks of 8 classes which so that mamas can be supported throughout pregnancy and begin when space becomes available. We tend to run classes every week with the exception of Christmas and New Year break. Each block of 8 classes can be taken over a 9-week period.
Suitable for all mums-to-be from 12 weeks of pregnancy. No previous experience of Yoga is necessary.

Regenerative classes which facilitate deep, conscious relaxation, providing relief and balance across all aspects of our being: physiological, mental, emotional and psychological.
Gentle relaxation poses where the body is fully supported by bolsters, cushions, blankets and other support, allow us to learn how to accept support and relax deeply, entering the calming state of the parasympathetic nervous system. Beginning with some soft unwinding movements through the spine, as the session progresses we feel our muscles and tissues relax as the mind becomes quiet and our breathing smooth and settled, releasing tension and easing congestion through the whole body-mind. Caring conscious touch and the use of high quality essential oils further support us as we rest more deeply in this practice.
The sessions incorporate Yoga Nidra, an ancient practice which translates as "conscious sleep". Through guided deep rest in the sub-conscious space between dreaming and wakefulness, where the body sleeps while the mind remains aware, we can find peace, authenticity and ease, and a sense of our deepest nature and limitless potential.

Friendly and relaxed classes for parent/carer and baby to enjoy Yoga together!
Yoga adapted for babies provides a delightful way to give babies the variety and amount of movement and touch on which they thrive. We benefit from the postures designed specifically to support the body in the postnatal period, while simultaneously facilitating and enjoying baby's delight in the movements of Yoga. Enjoy the ease, fun, uplift and peacefulness that Yoga can bring, together!
Yoga with Babies classes provide a friendly, relaxed environment in which to learn and share Yoga with other parents and babies. A range of practices is developed over the weeks so that the fun and benefits of Yoga can gradually be incorporate into day-to-day life with baby.
Classes incorporate Postnatal Yoga, Baby Yoga, and simple elements of Baby Massage.
We are a small, supportive and relaxed group - join in, or feed, change or walk about with your baby as you need.
Come with any experience of Yoga or none - the classes are inclusive and suitable for all carers of babies from 6 weeks to 6 months old. If mama is recovering from C-section, it is advised to wait until baby is 8 weeks old.

We explore one of our biggest resources for pregnancy, birth and motherhood - the power of breath - and its capacity to support us in all that life brings, in conjunction with the deeply relaxing practices of Restorative Yoga and Somatic Yoga specifically for pregnancy.
Mamas leave the sanctuary equipped with a variety of breathing techniques and practices, and therapeutic Yoga postures, which support us and our babies during pregnancy, birth and beyond. We'll share tools for a range of physical and emotional states, including:

Whether you are preparing to start a family, have been hoping to become pregnant for some time, or are undergoing a programme of IVF or other assisted reproductive technologies, these classes are nourishing, restful, and extremely beneficial.
Within the container of a feminine approach to Yoga, elements of Yoga Somatics, Embodied Flow, Womb Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra are combined to lower stress and anxiety levels, balance the endocrine and nervous systems, facilitate deep relaxation, and release tension and congestion through the pelvis and whole body-mind.
The practices encourage a connection with your womb space and energies, supporting familiarity and trust with your unique rhythms, boosting your menstrual and reproductive health and optimising your possibilities of conception and a healthy pregnancy.
Yoga for Fertility classes are open to women at any stage of the fertility journey. Yoga for Fertility is currently offered within our small, friendly and supportive Yoga for Women classes.
Private sessions are also available for women, men, and couples.
Therapeutic and supportive sessions combining healing yoga therapy philosophy and practices in conjunction with somatic awareness and professional counselling and psychotherapeutic support.
You will be met by a compassionate and experienced therapist in a safe and confidential space to receive support in whatever difficulties or challenges you are facing. Acknowledgement of and working with the inter-relatedness of our physical health, emotional experiences, mental well-being, and access to out sense of vitality and resourcefulness underpins this approach.
Any aspect of the experience of living can be positively worked with in these sessions. Specific issues you may seek support with might include:
- Anxiety, including panic attacks
- Stress or burnout
- Low self-esteem
- Sleeping difficulties, including insomnia
- Bereavement and loss
- Relationship or family difficulties, including separation or divorce

Somatic Therapy is gentle and no previous experience of either yoga practices or counselling or psychotherapy is necessary for you to receive benefits from these sessions.
In each session, space is given for exploring your concerns. You will be then guided through a tailored combination of practices which may incorporate gentle movement, breathing techniques, inquiry, and relaxation practices, to support your physical, mental and emotional well-being. You will also receive practical resources and understanding to help support you between sessions.
Beverley is an experienced Somatic Therapist, Yoga Therapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MBACP). She began her formal professional training in counselling and psychotherapy in 2006, and has worked with a broad range of clients both in the UK and internationally for several years. Her passion for and experience of the positive influences of embodied awareness practices to our physical and emotional health inspired her to embark on exploring this area further, leading to her current research for a Professional Doctorate in Psychotherapy with the University of Edinburgh on the bridge between Yoga and Psychotherapy.
In addition to her private practice, Beverley works as an Assessment Counsellor for the PF Counselling Service, a respected and established charity in Edinburgh, as well as volunteering her time to offer weekly counselling and psychotherapy sessions there.

They are extremely helpful for complete beginners who want to learn the basics of yoga safely, or intermediate students who wish to deepen in their asana, pranayama or meditation practices.
They also offer tailored support and help improve physical and mental performance in sports and activities, such as cycling, running, football or rugby.
